Waltzing Matilda

Metal Maven!  omgggggggg.  I never thought I'd own this fucking beauty!  The Glamorous collection of 2008 was really the first Fashion Royalty collection that I noticed, after collecting Barbie for a little bit and going on MFD (who is still my dealer today - Marg, you are so awesome!).  I was looking for some Barbies or Silkstones, and stumbled across the Fashion Royalty section, and was blown away by the collection.  Of course Metal Maven was already sold out by that point, but I did end up getting Glimmer Luchia (who is still one of my fave dolls).  But sadly, Metal Maven always seemed out of reach to me.  Sometimes she'd show up on ebay or the Doll Pages at a tolerable price, but it was always when I was either broke, or knew other dolls were coming down the pipeline and I had to set aside money for them.  But not anymore!

I named her Matilda because she came to me from Jo in Australia (who is also a fellow Sailor Moon lover).  She's got a section of singed hair, and her eyelashes aren't factory, but that's fine!  She's still MY Matilda, and she's just as lovely as I thought she'd be. She's sitting on the couch beside me right now as I type this post.
