The May Webinar - Katy Keene! (1 of 5)

Wheeeeeeeee, another webinar, and once again, I pre-ordered wayyyyy too much stuff.  The first line that was shown was the Katy Keene line.  Once again if you don't know, she is a part of the Archie Comics family, and was really the first pin-up girl (she was even before Bettie Page).  And she came in all her glory with a couple of friends.  And I gotta tell you, I was pleasantly surprised with this line! They all come on the Color Infusion/Jem body type, and all retail for $145, save the last giftset, which is $185.  They are all scheduled to ship staggered during the month of July.

Winning Number Lucki Red Lorelei:

She's Katy's friend, and is really superstitious, so that's why she's got clovers and horseshoes as part of her theme.  She uses the Jem face sculpt, and she's really pretty!  She was on my wish list down to the wire before I decided that I didn't want to get a Color Infusion body.  Maybe if she doesn't sell out, I can pick her up later and do a body swap...

The Odds Are Stacked Gloria Grandbuilt:

omg omg omg.  I LOVE THIS FUCKING DOLL.  But I didn't wind up getting her because of the same CI body reasoning.  I think I'll really regret it and have to pick her up.  She uses the Roxy/Tilda Brisby face sculpt from Jem and Color Infusion respectively.  She's Katy's arch-rival, and her face shows it.  She's so damn haughty and I LOVE IT.  The red color of the tweed is also scrumptious.

Blue Serenade Katy Keene:

Is that Katy Keene, or Katy Perry??  Actually Katy Perry uses Katy Keene for a lot of her inspiration, so the similarity isn't just coincidence.  This fashion was taken direction from some of the paper dolls that actually came with the comic books (some of which were designed by readers, which is really awesome).  She was also on my short list.  Not so much for the gown, but I love her face and hair.

Shimmering Dynasty Katy Keene:

The 80's called - they want all their stuff back.  Actually, Katy Keene's comic got a resurrection in the 80's, so that's where this Alexis from Dynasty outfit came from (and you can see that in the name, too!).  I'm REALLY not into the dress, but I do love the face and hair.  It's just that she reminds me of a doll that I already have, so that's why I didn't want to pick her up.

Everything's Keene Katy Keene Giftset:

This is the giftset of the bunch.  This one brings her back to her pin-up roots.  I ADORE the two-toned brown heels, and she's very pretty.  Once again, the CI body was a stumping block.  She actually reminds me of Intimately Acquainted Luchia with the victory rolls in her hair.

Once again, I'm really pleasantly surprised with this line.  Almost a blessing to me that the line is on the Color Infusion body, because now I don't have to find a way to pay for it when it's coming out so soon.  A great start to a great webinar!  More to come!
