New Jem Flip Side Giftset - Who Is He Kissing

Wow, so they're actually doing a Flip Side set.  It's Who Is He Kissing, named after the song in the episode 'Starbright Part 1' where the Getting Down To Business fashion first appeared.  This seems like the PERFECT vehicle for the Integrity version of Jem.  Of course they had to start out with all the 'classic' dolls that were already released by Hasbro, but now that they've gotten those out of the way, they can be a little more creative, and produce things that have either not been produced at all, or are closer to the TV vision.  The Flip Side fashions back in the '80s were meant for one doll to become two people (Jem and Jerrica), so there were things that had to suffer from the fashions in order to make that happen.  And the suffering usually happened on poor Jerrica's end.  She just gets no love - except from me.  I vastly prefer Jerrica to Jem, and that's why I'm THRILLED with this set.  Jerrica finally gets the look she deserves, instead of just having a big hat to put the layer of pink hair under.

LOVE Jerrica's bangs.  LOVE that Jem can still look different, even after all the incarnations of her that have been released.  LOVE that Jerrica's shirt is actually different than the dress, as per the TV show.  LOVE that they each have their own pair of shoes that are different from each other.  LOVE the price point of $185.  Look at all the stuff you're getting for that price.

I no longer collect Jem, since I never played with them, and when focusing my collection, anything I didn't play with unfortunately had to go.  But I of course still love Jem, and will live vicariously through other collectors, and still frequently watch the TV series.

OOOH OOH OOOH.  ALSO:

ACCESSORY PACKS.  HOW FUCKING COOL IS THAT???!  Remember in the 80s, and even with the first wave of dolls, everyone wondered why the hell Kimber had a portable keyboard?  Wonder no longer.  Each set comes with a jacket with the band logo (I MUST GET THAT MISFITS JACKET.  My girls need to show their 80s power lesbian love).  The Hologram set comes with Aja's concert guitar, 3 straps in Hologram-suited colors, a cardboard amp, some music sheets, a picture of Emmet (for Kimber like in the Father's Day ep, which is one of my faves), some power cables, a guitar case, and of course the keyboard for Kimber.

The bad girls also get a guitar case.  Stormer also finally gets her correct keytar, Roxy gets an alternate guitar like on the show, they also get an amp, some power cables, and some Misfit-appropriate colored guitar straps.  There's some music, 4 ransom notes and the demo reel and case from the Search For The Stolen Album episode.  SWEET.
