o.m.gggggggg. When I opened the email to see the new ITBE dolls, I drooled all over myself. The line had been previewed at the FR Convention with Hard Metal (Lillith) and In Sequins (Anja). Both are soooo fab, and became instant hits because of their gorgeousness, and especially because of their price points of $65. The 3 ITBE dolls that were announced are slightly more expensive at $75, but convention items often have a slight discount on them, because it takes a lot of money and effort to actually GET to convention (boy don't I fucking know it...)
The mission statement of the new ITBE line seems to be 'anything goes'. It's also a playpen of using older sculpts and body types, and mixing and matching them in new and fun ways. Each girl will come simply dressed, to help keep the price down, and some of the old fave sculpts have made appearances in this first unveiling.
Gold Glam:
Gold Glam uses the Adele 2.0 sculpt, and the Tall FR body with the big torpedo boobs. I like this body and the new body, so I'm completely fine with that. Adele has the Latina skintone, and strawberry blonde hair. She reminds me a bit of Bodacious, so she may be a pass for me, since I have Bodacious already.
Shimmering Copper:
WANT. You all know how big a fan I am of the Isha/Luchia 1.0 face, so this is heaven to me. She's like Go North, but with wayyyyy better eyes. She's got that old screening from Glimmer, Hopelessly Captivating and Purple Pose that I LOVE LOVE LOVE. I will SO be trying for her when the lotteries are announced.
Light Strike:
Look at that dress!!!!! It's like a superheroine outfit. It's based off a Jason Wu runway look a little. This is actually the Natalia 1.5 face (same as 1.0, except her mouth is closed). Normally I think that the old Natalia face looks like a fucking hag, but I really like this doll. She's got the black skintone, and I love her hair. I'll also be trying for her.
You saw me mention Lotteries. That's the HUGE downside to this release. There's only 300 of each doll available, and it's going to be through lottery only. But not just a WClub lotto. It's a lotto for both the WClub and the general public. Well, shit. Shit, shit, shit. I can never win in the WClub lotteries, let alone with the rest of the public gets involved. I have this sick feeling that scalpers will create like 20 non-WClub accounts and win them all, then put them on eBay for like $300 each. We'll hear more about the lotteries in January of 2014. Looks like next year for dolly collecting is already getting off to a fantastic start. Just make more of the next batch of ITBE dolls. Sheesh.
SIDEBAR - I got In Sequins Anja! So now I'll REALLY have to try for all these girls, so she'll have some ITBE friends! (Yes, I'm using that as an excuse)
