Fashion Royalty Fan: Moon Prism Power

I got my Sailor Moon Bandai Figuarts toy in the mail yesterday. Only took a week to come from Tokyo, and yet it takes like three to come from the US. What. The. Fuck?! I got the limited edition one with the two extra faces because I needed the crying face Usagi NEEDS a crying face, and if you've ever watched Sailor Moon, you'll know why.

Sailor Moon is as big of a passion for me as Fashion Royalty. It's a fandom I've been a part of since high school, and with all the 20th anniversary stuff coming out (the new anime, these figures) it's a perfect chance to relive that love. My favorite version of the lore is actually Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon, the live-action one that was made 10 years ago in Japan. It just tells the stories of the girls so well, and Usagi is a goof, but not quite as goofy as the anime, since it's more grounded in reality (she obviously can't go super-deformed, being a real human being).

I've also been watching the anime, and with these figures, I hope that they'll make some villains. These characters are so poseable, and can do all their signature moves, so it would be cool to set up a fight. My number one choice for villains would be the Black Moon Sisters (Petz, Calaveras, Berthier, and Koan). They're all so beautiful that they'd make gorgeous figures, and they are my faves. Of course you'd also have to see Beryl and the Four Generals if they do Tuxedo Mask. The Amazoness Quartet would be awesome too if they do a Chibi-Usa figure, since in the manga, the Amazoness Quartet are actually her Sailor Senshi, named after asteroids in our solar system (which are now classified as dwarf planets, like Pluto and Eris).

Anyway, I've been having TONS of fun with this toy. She comes with 6 different faces (a standard smiling face, a serious face, a shouting face, a crying face, a face with no tiara for when she has the Moon Tiara Action hand on, and her winking face). She also comes with two Moon Crescent Wands (one with the Silver Crystal, one without), several hand options, including a Moon Tiara Action hand, and Luna. The stand is even articulated, which is cool.
