Femi is Agnes's partner in the homicide squad. She's not only a recent immigrant to the US, but she's far more feminine than her partner, and thus gets 'damsel in distress' treatment from the other officers. Being an all-female pairing where most of the victims are female gives their team the stigma that they will break under the pressure, particularly because Femi is the softer, kinder face that deals with the victims' families. But she never breaks. At first she found it difficult being in a partnership with Agnes, as she's very closed-off and aloof, but Femi has grown to respect her partner greatly, especially after knowing that her whole family was attacked in a robbery gone wrong while she was away at college, leaving her parents dead and her sister, Giselle, permanently brain damaged with the mind of a six year old in a nineteen year old's body.
