"The Nomad's Crown" - Xandria
I don't know that this song actually represents Winter, Rigel's eventual human servant. But, it's just that I can't stop listening to it. It's the most epic song I've heard in a long time, and the last 2.5 minutes just put chills all through my body.
In my fantasy world, vampires aren't created through bite rituals. It's a magical curse. Vampires are also not seen as romantic figures or anti-heroes. They are abominations, spitting in the face of the natural order of Magdalena and Xarastar, the avatars of life and death respectively. Mort-sang, as they're called in this world, have an aura about them that makes other races, particularly humans, recoil instinctively. Master mort-sang are often older when they transform, because the curse is the only one that's performed on one's self, and it takes a lot of magical skill to perform. As they age, their tolerance for light lessens. A new vampire could stand in the shadows and look at sunlight, but a very old vampire would even recoil from candlelight. So, older vampires need younger vampires and human servants to take care of business while they lurk in the darkness, waiting for prey. To choose the life of a human servant is like how we'd feel about child molesters in our world. So, Winter isn't exactly popular, but she doesn't care.
She comes from a pitiable life, sexually abused by her father, and sold into sexual slavery when she tried to speak out against him. It's made her distrustful of humanity, and made her close off all her emotions to a point that she could never really get them back, yet still subconsciously craves love and protection, no matter where it comes from - even if it comes from a vampire.
