OMG Best Webinar EVAR - Fashion Royalty! And, Event Doll!
Annnnnnddddd, ENGAGE. This was the line that I was waiting for the most. Which of course means that it was the last one shown. And of course, Crazy Data Face was my face the entire time they were showing this line. It's all sooooo awesome! Shall we begin?
Elusive Creature Natalia:
Look at that purse!!! Look at that vest! Initially, I was a little disappointed to see that Natalia has that same hairstyle she always does - the wavy/curly side part. But it always means that she has really thick, playable hair, so it's a double-edged sword. This Nat looks quite a bit like Private Goddess, but without the pink eyeshadow that I find kind of ill-suiting to Natalia (that's why I don't own Private Goddess). She was a late addition to my pre-orders, but I just couldn't turn down that outfit, and Natalia. She's definitely among my top 5 face sculpts. She's also using what they call the 'Hispanic' skintone, which is a shade lighter than Latina. It's the same color that Scene Stealer Isha, Long Cool Woman Kesenia, Pretty in Polynesia Poppy, and Hot Dots Poppy use. I've also seen this skintone called Miami.
Faded Desert Kyori:
LOVE! She was on my list to my dealer as soon as I saw her face. She's like the upgrade doll from last year, Love The One, but with wayyyyy better eyes. And ASIAN LOOKING EYES. Woo! She doesn't seem to be as popular as the other dolls in the line, going by the reactions on the WClub forums, but I think she's the second best doll in the line. We'll get to my fave in this line in a few. Love that her purse is a mini replica of a Jason Wu purse. Love her daring eye shadow, and that she's got a more rock-barren color palette for this safari look (not all safari terrain is browns and tans)
City Prowl Eugenia:
Meeeooowww! Eugenia's a sex kitten here with her sheer leopard blouse and her 'leather' corset. Something about her makes me think of a more sun-kissed Diamond Society (with completely different clothing styles, obviously). I expect that I'll get a lot of use out of the pieces from this outfit when she arrives in August/September (or later). That's the time frame for all the dolls in this season's FR collection, but I don't think it's ever happened that every doll from the line has shipped at the same time.. I love Eugenia's eye shadow. It makes me think a bit of Heat Seeker Natalia, who is one of my fave dolls.
Full Spectrum Veronique:
HUBBA HUBBA. My God, this Veronique is GORGEOUS. You all know that I have a soft spot for the gals with short hair, and It's so cool to see Veronique looking very different than her past incarnations. She reminds me A LOT of Go Home Rayna. So much so that I removed Go Home from my Want List. I was waiting with baited breath to see the Veronique in this line, since I'm obsessed with her right now. She may be my fave sculpt, edging out even the great Agnes. She's my fave of the collection. There's been comment that her clothes don't fit the Safari theme, but I think that's on purpose. Veronique is the red sun in the center of all the other dolls, and they orbit around their Queen. Love the keyhole detail on the back of the dress. I cannot STAND the lengthy wait ahead of me to get my mitts on her.
On The Rise Elise:
Woop! An Elise this season that's not impossible to get (I'm looking right at you, Montaigne Market!). But, I love this version of Elise so much more. Yes, she's got Raven hair again, but that's fine. I always picture Elise as having raven hair, and the ones like Dark Swan and Flawless just dyed their hair. There was comment about how this dress totally didn't fit into the Safari theme, aside from the crocodile pattern on her purse, but I disagree. This color fits in very well. This saffron is a color that we haven't seen used much on a doll, and it's a color that's used a lot in African tribal fashion. The dress itself isn't, but the color - most definitely. I'm not into gowns, as you all know, but I'll keep this one. The color is just too wonderful.
Vivid Encounter Adele:
The final doll in the mainline is Vivid Encounter Adele. She seems to be the least popular (AA doll as the least popular? SHOCK -_-) I'm a huge fan of the Adele 3.0 sculpt, but I didn't have this girl on my initial Want List to my dealer because I thought she was close to Paparazzi Darling in terms of makeup and hairstyle. But the more I looked at her, the more and more I liked her. To me, she is superior to Paparazzi Darling. So, I asked my dealer about her, and when I got my confirmation email, she also pointed out that I couldn't have Adele because she was all sold out. D'oh!!! Might have to ask a few other dealers about her. And the same thing that I mentioned about Elise applies to Adele - the color is something you don't see often on dolls, and it's actually a very proper Safari color in terms of palette. Also, again not a gown person, but I do like this one a lot. Cross your fingers for me that I can find Adele elsewhere (or that I have the willpower not to because where is all this money going to come from????)
There was one more doll to go with the Fashion Royalty line. THE EVENT DOLL. Everyone was begging for an Agnes - and they listened!
High Visibility Agnes:
Oooh, baby. A redheaded Agnes. That kicks Vivid Impact off my list, because at least this girl doesn't need a partial reroot. Love the pale pink leopard jacquard - a very different idea (just like with the light blue leopard jacquard on Kyori's skirt). This is actually a mini-giftset, with an extra pair of shoes and a long chiffon skirt for mixing and matching, which I love. And I actually kind of want to keep the skirt! What is it with this line making me want to keep gowns and such? Of course, I already have paid my deposit on Agnes. I had it paid even before the webinar was over, LOL.
So, all in all, I don't know how Integrity is going to top this webinar with the next one - but the refresh of Nu.Face should be pretty spectacular. Also, they mentioned that we'll hear something VERY soon about the convention. So, more news soon!!!
