- Our local video store finally closed its doors. I'm surprised it stayed open as long as it did. But that means on the weekends, it's open to massive sales. Since it's a mom and pop store, they have lots more old and obscure stuff than a chain place would have. I got a bunch of decent movies - blu-ray was the same price as DVD! I can't believe that I snagged a copy of Inside (a French horror flick that literally is the one movie that made me recoil and have to look away from a scene), and The Changeling (the old George C. Scott one). There was lots of stuff that I didn't get and am kicking my ass for now, like a blu-ray copy of the rebooted Maniac, starring Elijah Wood.
- One of the movies I got was Sinister, which I'd seen before, but I love. Got my mom to watch it, who isn't a horror movie person. She was pretty scared, as I love that Sinister doesn't rely JUST on jump scares like a lot of ghost type movies, but also ramps up the tension BEFORE the jump scare. There was a scene where even my Dad gasped and said 'holy shit', and he wasn't even watching the movie. He was on the computer with his back turned to the TV, LOL
- More Final Fantasy X stuff - I FINALLY BEAT THAT MOTHERFUCKER DARK VALEFOR. Fuck her. I know that she's only the first Dark Aeon in the quest, but she's the only one I *needed* to beat, since there were things I had to go back to Besaid for. Like getting the prize in the Cloister of Trials and getting the last Jecht Sphere. I almost feel invincible in the game right now - that will change awfully quickly, though. Actually, it already changed when I decided to try beating Earth Eater in the Monster Arena for the hell of it (since he's the only real place that you can rely on getting Fortune Spheres). I think I was probably getting close to beating the fucker, but I totally died. At least I now have Anima and the Magus Sisters! Now for more monster capture in the Omega Ruins, then some serious leveling.
- HANNIBAL. omg, the season 2 finale. SO FUCKING GOOD I CAN'T EVEN. My feels still hurt from that episode. The carnage! The broken love! Everyone dying! It totally chewed up the Red Wedding and spit it out. SPIT IT OUT, I say! If you haven't yet watched this show, please do! It's really one of the best things on television. On par, or better IMHO, than Game Of Thrones.
- My computer is so confused. It now thinks it's in the US. ^.^ I got US-Unblock. If you live in the US, you don't know what I'm talking about, but in Canada, we get all the American channels and are urged to see extra content and what-not on the website of 'whatever'. Except that the websites are US only and block us out. Not anymore! I mostly did it for the new Sailor Moon deal with Hulu and Viz. Viz bought all the rights to the old Sailor Moon anime, as well as the new upcoming Crystal one. They're also going to be working on a new dub, which we'll see later in the year, and I'm curious about. They won't be editing NOTHING, which is great. It's a good time to be a Sailor Moon fan...
- ... unless you're eagerly awaiting your Sailor Venus figure from Amazon, and they 'forgot' to fill your order. I'm now waiting for them to get Sailor Venus back in stock before they can ship her to me. But, at least they upgraded my shipping to Express for free. Which is okay I guess, but I really just wanted the figure! Hopefully this doesn't happen when they ship my pre-ordered Sailor Jupiter or Sailor Saturn figures.
- I love Phyllis's giant hair! I know most people tamed her hair when they got her, but I made it even more feral. If she's going to be a beast, go all the damn way, lady! I love wild hair - it's like they're warrior women who are living off the land and hunting through the wilderness. There's something so sexy about that savage, untamed idea of beauty.
